Iran renews call for OIC emergency meeting to stop genocide in Gaza

Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister had a phone conversation with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and discussed the consequences of the Zionist regime’s terrorist move to martyr the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas Ismail Haniyeh.

Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri had a phone conversation on Tuesday with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and discussed the consequences of the Zionist regime’s terrorist move to martyr the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh.

The two sides also held consultations over holding an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the issue.

Bagheri expressed hope that an extraordinary OIC meeting in the Saudi city of Jeddah would shed a clear light on the Zionist regime’s crimes in assassinating Haniyeh and violating the Islamic Republic of Iran’s national security and sovereignty as a member of the organization.

The Iranian caretaker foreign minister also expressed optimism that the OIC meeting will be helpful and effective for the Islamic world and the issue of Palestine, and can stop the Zionist regime’s military and security savagery through threats and punishment mechanisms.

Meanwhile, the top diplomat pointed out that the US and European governments have refused to condemn the Zionist regime’s terrorist move and martyrdom of Haniyeh.

He said, “The Zionist regime is the main cause of instability in the region, and the Islamic Republic of Iran will practically confront the cause of insecurity and instability in the region with its decisive response.”

For his part, the Egyptian foreign minister touched on the measures by the usurping Zionist regime that create tensions in the region and block ceasefire efforts to bear fruit in the occupied territories.

He noted, “Egypt has warned all European sides and the US of the Zionist regime’s dangerous moves and hopes that the tensions in the region will deescalate.”
