FM Araghchi meets with Irans embassy staff in Venezuela

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a video conference with Ali Chegini, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Caracas, and the diplomats serving at Iran’s Embassy in Venezuela, expressed his appreciation for their services and efforts. He was briefed on the latest developments in Iran–Venezuela bilateral relations.

 

During the virtual meeting—attended also by Mehdi Sobhani, Deputy for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Zahra Ershadi, Assistant to the Minister and Director General for the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—the Ambassador of Iran presented a report on the measures undertaken and those underway to strengthen bilateral relations.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored Iran’s principled position in rejecting any threatening actions against the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Venezuela. He expressed confidence that the Venezuelan people, by maintaining national unity and cohesion, will defend their country’s independence and national interests against the unlawful maneuvers of the United States.
