FM Araghchi meets with heads of Iranian missions in Caspian Littoral States
The Ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan as well as Iran’s Consuls General in Astrakhan Russia and Aktau Kazakhstan who are attending the First Summit of Governors of the Caspian Littoral Provinces in Rasht met this Tuesday morning with Irans Minister of Foreign Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
The Ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan, as well as Iran’s Consuls General in Astrakhan, Russia, and Aktau, Kazakhstan, who are attending the First Summit of Governors of the Caspian Littoral Provinces in Rasht, met this Tuesday morning with Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
In this working meeting, held with the participation of Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Minister for Legal and International Affairs and the Minister’s Special Envoy for Caspian Sea Affairs, bilateral relations between Iran and the Caspian littoral states, as well as developments in the Caucasus and Central Asia, were reviewed and discussed.
Araghchi outlined current foreign relations issues, particularly in the domain of neighboring countries. He underscored the importance of identifying the considerable existing capacities in Iran’s northern provinces and adjacent regions for strengthening trade and economic cooperation with the Caspian littoral states.
Emphasizing the facilitative role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in advancing the country’s external economic relations, Araghchi highlighted the importance of enhancing the engagement of ambassadors with the relevant provincial entities—especially economic sectors, chambers of commerce, and free trade zones in the Caspian coastal provinces—to expand cooperation with the Caspian littoral countries.
During the meeting, the participating ambassadors and consuls general presented their views and proposals for expanding Iran’s comprehensive relations with its northern neighbors, particularly in economic and commercial spheres.
