In this meeting, bilateral Iran–Saudi relations and ways to expand relations and cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest were discussed and exchanged views upon.

Regional and international developments were also reviewed in the meeting. Araghchi described the continuation of the genocide and crimes of the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine—together with the intensification of that regime’s military aggressions against Lebanon and Syria—as the gravest threat to regional and global peace and security. He emphasized the need for greater cooperation and coordination among the countries of the region and the Islamic world to contain the Zionist regime’s warmongering and lawlessness in the region.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia underscored his country’s position regarding the necessity of strengthening coordination and cooperation among regional States in order to safeguard regional peace and stability.
