Top Iranian diplomat hosts Pakistans deputy foreign minister

Pakistans Deputy Foreign Minister Amina Baloch who is in Tehran to attend the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) deputy foreign ministerial meeting met and held talks with Irans Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi at noon on Monday.

During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister highlighted President Massoud Pezeshkian's dedication to deepening comprehensive relations with neighboring countries.

 

He emphasized Pakistan's special status in Iran's foreign policy and the determination to deepen and expand relations between the two neighboring and Muslim countries.

 

Araghchi pointed to the shared opportunities and challenges faced by the two major countries, Iran and Pakistan.

 

He stressed the importance of continued interactions between high-ranking officials of both countries and ongoing consultations at various levels to leverage the opportunities, secure common interests, and tackle challenges.

 

Pakistan's deputy foreign minister also noted the mutual benefits and shared concerns, including border security, drug trafficking, and illegal migration.

 

Baloch underscored Pakistan's commitment to further developing ties with Iran and cooperating at bilateral and regional levels to address shared challenges and concerns.

 

The meeting also included discussions on regional developments, including Afghanistan, Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon.
