In this candid conversation, Araghchi outlined Iran's position on Tehran’s peaceful nuclear activities, stressing that the Islamic Republic has always been ready for dialogue based on its principles and national interests. He also underscored that this approach is not new and has been the basis for Iran’s past negotiations as well.
The top Iranian diplomat reiterated Tehran’s support for establishing and extending a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon and stressed the need for stopping the crimes and acts of aggression by the Zionist regime.
Araghchi also noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported peace and stability in the region and will not spare any effort to this end.
He further warned against any escalation of tensions in Yemen, saying that the consequences of such acts will pose a threat to regional stability and security.
Araghchi and Lammy also discussed the latest state of bilateral relations and welcomed recent positive developments. They then underlined the importance of continuing diplomatic consultations.
The two top diplomats also held talks over some consular issues during this telephone conversation.
