Geir Pedersen the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria held discussions with Ali Asghar Khaji Senior Advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister on Special Political Affairs.

Geir Pedersen, the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, held discussions with Ali Asghar Khaji, Senior Advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister on Special Political Affairs.

In these discussions, the two parties exchanged views on the latest political, economic, and on-the-ground developments in Syria, particularly issues related to the fight against terrorism, the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza, the expansion of this regime’s attacks on Syria, the humanitarian crisis in the country, and the necessity of continuing the Syrian political process.

Khaji, while highlighting the expansion of the Zionist regime’s aggressive attacks on Syrian territory, attributed the continuation of these attacks to the inherently aggressive nature of the regime and its aim to support the invading terrorists in Syria.

The Senior Advisor to the foreign minister also referred to Iran's efforts to resume purposeful talks to politically resolve the differences between Turkey and Syria, expressing hope that achieving this goal would advance peace and stability between the two countries and in the region.

Pedersen, during this video conversation, provided an explanation and report on his latest efforts in drafting a step-by-step plan and also on developments related to the resumption of the Constitutional Committee meetings.
