Foreign Minister of Yemen's National Salvation Government Jamal Amer, in a phone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi,
has congratulated him on his appointment as the minister of foreign affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Amer also wished Araghchi success in his new post. The Yemeni side stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and regional cooperation with Iran too.

Referring to the escalation of conflicts in the West Asian region and the military attacks of the United States and Britain on Yemen, the Yemeni foreign minister said his country's policy of supporting the oppressed Palestinian people will not change.

While underlining the significance of previous documents and agreements clinched between Iran and Yemen, Amer voiced hope that Tehran and Sana'a will strengthen their cooperation in economic and development fields.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi for his part thanked the top Yemeni diplomat for the felicitation and reciprocated by congratulating Amer on his appointment as Yemen's foreign minister.

Araghchi stated that the relations between Iran and Yemen and the continuation of consultations between the two countries for the purpose of boosting regional security are of great importance.

He appreciated the stance of the government and people of Yemen on the war crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza. He said at a time when many countries only criticize the Zionist regime over its war on Gaza, the government and people of Yemen have been defending the oppressed Palestinian people in a practical way.

Araghchi then invited the Yemeni foreign minister to visit Tehran in order to continue the dialogue and exchange views with Iran on issues of mutual concern in bilateral and regional spheres.
