Iran deputy FM meets with heads of diplomatic missions of Persian Gulf countries in Tehran

Majid Takht-Ravanchi in a joint meeting with the heads of the diplomatic missions of the Persian Gulf countries in Tehran stated that the Fourteenth Government places special importance on expanding relations with neighboring countries particularly the Persian Gulf states and will plan to further strengthen relations in all areas of mutual interest.

Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, in a joint meeting with the heads of the diplomatic missions of the Persian Gulf countries in Tehran, stated that the Fourteenth Government places special importance on expanding relations with neighboring countries, particularly the Persian Gulf states, and will plan to further strengthen relations in all areas of mutual interest.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, referring to President Pezeshkian's visit to Iraq, emphasized the Fourteenth Government's determination to engage in continuous consultations and interaction with the eight countries bordering the Persian Gulf.
He added that the geographical proximity, as well as the bonds and commonalities among the eight Persian Gulf countries, provide a favorable framework for dialogue and consultation between us, and it is essential that they engage in continuous cooperation and coordination on matters of mutual interest.

Takht-Ravanchi, enumerating some common issues among the eight countries, such as economic cooperation, transit, environmental matters, maritime affairs, the fight against drug trafficking, and the coast guard, described the regional consensus on these matters as aligned and reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness to enhance cooperation through visits, dialogue, and engagement.

At the conclusion of this meeting, several heads of Persian Gulf missions in Tehran expressed their views on this subject and stressed the necessity of dialogue among the regional countries.
