Palestine takes center stage in talks between Iranian, Qatari FMs in Doha

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has sat down with Qatari Prime Ministe and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

 

In the meeting, the top Iranian diplomat touched upon the importance and sensitivity of the current developments in occupied Palestine and the war crimes committed by the Israeli regime against Palestinian citizens in Gaza, expressing his gratitude to Qatar for its strong support for Palestine amid current events.

 

“We are facing the killing of Palestinians in Gaza on a daily basis. It is not tolerable to see the Israeli regime kill hundreds of Palestinians every day, and these war crimes, the blockade on residents in Gaza and the cutting off of water, food and drug supplies should end,” said Amirabdollahian.

 

“At a time when so huge numbers of Palestinian people are killed by the Israeli regime on a daily basis, the US government urges others to exercise restraint while it has increased its military and all-out support for the criminal Israeli regime,” he added.

 

“If the Israeli regime continues its crimes against Palestinian people and citizens, no one can guarantee that the status quo in the region will remain the same,” he said.

 

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, in turn, referred to the ongoing developments in occupied Palestine, and described consultations between Tehran and Doha as important.

 

He said the perpetuation of the current situation and the Israeli attacks against Gaza and Palestinian people is a cause for concern.

 

He said Palestine is an issue of concern to the whole Muslim world, adding the regional countries have a united stance with regards to supporting the Palestinian nation.
