Iranian Foreign Minister meets with Indias National Security Advisor

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran who has traveled to New Delhi to participate in the BRICS foreign ministers' meeting, met and held talks with Ajit Doval, India's National Security Advisor.

In this meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest status of bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and India, and emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in political, economic, commercial, transit, and energy fields.

Referring to the historical and friendly relations between Tehran and New Delhi, the Iranian Foreign Minister considered the continuation of consultations and close cooperation between the two countries as important for securing mutual interests and strengthening regional stability and security.

Araghchi also elaborated on the latest regional developments, especially the course of the war and the consequences of continued insecurity and tension in West Asia, and emphasized the need for effective action by the international community to stop the conflicts and prevent the spread of instability in the region.

India's National Security Advisor, while expressing concern over the continued tensions and conflicts in the region, emphasized the importance of maintaining regional stability and security, and declared his country's readiness to help restore security in the region and end the war.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, as well as existing cooperation within the framework of multilateral organizations and mechanisms, including BRICS.
