congratulations Message to Muslims worldwide on Eid al-Fitr

Message of congratulations from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Muslims worldwide on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in a message while congratulating the arrival of the Blessed Eid al-Fitr to all Muslims worldwide, emphasized the necessity of strengthening unity among Muslim countries and nations against the enemies of the Islamic Ummah, and condemning and expressing disgust at the crimes of the American and Zionist aggressors.

The text of the Foreign Minister's message is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

I extend my congratulations and felicitations to all Muslims worldwide on the arrival of the Blessed Eid al-Fitr. This blessed Eid represents, for all believers, the manifestation of faith and the triumph over the ego and carnal desires. The proud nation of Iran welcomes this great divine holiday after having spent a significant portion of the month of Ramadan during a time when our land was subjected to brutal aggression by the Zionist regime and America.

This crime was accompanied by the cowardly assassination of the political leader and religious authority of the Iranian nation, along with a group of prominent political and military figures of the country. Concurrently, the news of the bombing of a girls' elementary school in the city of Minab was published in world media, grieving the hearts of all free people globally.

Attacks on medical centers, service facilities, infrastructure, sports venues, residential homes, women, and children all signify an organized pattern of state terrorism, the commission of war crimes, lawlessness, and absolute disregard for fundamental human principles and international norms. What further compounds the bitterness of these crimes is that the origin of many of these attacks was facilitated by the hosting of neighboring Muslim countries.

The fundamental question facing the leaders and heads of Muslim countries at this critical juncture is: what is their stance regarding this series of blatant crimes? Will they choose the path of aligning with the aggressor against these aggressions? Will they condone the crimes against their Muslim brothers and sisters with silence, or will they act in accordance with the teachings of the sacred religion of Islam regarding the duties of a Muslim towards fellow human beings and co-religionists?

Undoubtedly, history will not remain indifferent to these choices, and the public opinion of the Islamic world will judge the actions and positions of its leaders with scrutiny and sensitivity. Today, everyone faces a great test to measure the sincerity in their claims and their adherence to Islamic and human principles and values: «لِیَبْلُوَکُمْ أَیُّکُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا»."That He may test you [to see] which of you is best in deed."

Undoubtedly, aligning with the aggressor is un-Islamic behavior and far removed from the tradition of the Messenger of God; for he said: "You see the believers in their mutual mercy, love, and compassion, like the body: when one part of it suffers, the rest of the body responds to it with sleeplessness and fever."

The Islamic Republic of Iran, since the dawn of the Islamic Revolution, has repeatedly and practically proven that it considers itself committed not only to defending the Iranian nation but also to supporting the Islamic Ummah. The enmity of the Zionist regime and its supporters today is precisely for this reason, and their efforts have always been aimed at bringing Iran, as the strong bastion of the Islamic world against their aggression and expansionism against the Islamic Ummah, to its knees – an endeavor that has failed due to the resistance and authority of Islamic Iran, the support of the faithful Iranian nation, and the Axis of Resistance.

Iran, whether based on rationality or on Islamic principles and norms, has extended a hand of friendship towards its neighbors and Muslim brothers, considering their security its own. Now, if the interests and bases of the aggressors in these countries are targeted within the framework of a defensive strategy, it is solely because these bases are being used to attack us.

The past few weeks have clearly shown that what matters to the United States is not the security of our neighbors, but solely the interests of the Zionist regime. This country is not only incapable of ensuring the security of neighboring countries, but by exploiting them, it also endangers their security. Therefore, it is fitting and necessary that the rulers and leaders of Muslim countries, in step with their discerning and aware peoples, explicitly and decisively declare their disgust for the aggression, crimes, and organized American-Zionist terrorism, not only in words but clearly in the field of action.

The aggression and crimes that the United States and the Zionist regime committed in occupied Palestine, especially Gaza and Lebanon, and which are now focused on Iran – although this time met with a painful and decisive response – have undoubtedly targeted the entire region and the Islamic world. The notion that silence or complicity with it will guarantee future security is a naive one.

In this context, respecting the rights of neighborliness and deep religious ties necessitates that the leaders of Islamic countries purge their words and actions of any suspicion of complicity with oppression and transgression, and stand in the ranks of the defenders of truth and justice. As the revered Messenger of Islam stated: "A Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims are safe."

In conclusion, while praying for the acceptance of the devotions and worship of all Muslim brothers and sisters throughout the Islamic world and again congratulating the Blessed Eid al-Fitr, we thank Almighty God for granting us the strength to persevere and fight against the false front. We ask Him to draw the hearts of the believers closer together and to strengthen their unity against the enemies of the Islamic Ummah.
