Iranian FM Araghchi holds phone conversation with Venezuelan counterpart

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil Pinto, had a telephone conversation on Saturday evening to discuss the latest developments following the US military aggression against Venezuela.

The Iranian foreign minister strongly condemned the US military aggression against Venezuela and the abduction of the country’s legitimate president and his wife, describing the act as a clear example of state terrorism and a blatant assault on the sovereignty and national will of the Venezuelan people.

He emphasized the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for the people and the elected government of Venezuela.

The Venezuelan foreign minister, while expressing appreciation for the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in demonstrating solidarity with his country, stressed that the people and government of Venezuela are determined to defend their national sovereignty and right to self-determination in the face of the United States’ bullying and unlawful policies
