Today, President Pezeshkian embarks on a visit to Tajikistan, the land of a people who share our language, heritage, culture, and deep historical roots. 

This, the first foreign visit of the 14th President in the year 2025, marks a historic event and reflects the resolute determination of the leaders of both nations to further expand relations, building upon the unique commonalities and profound connections shared by the two peoples. 

Thirty-three years ago, in these very days, less than four months after Tajikistan’s declaration of independence, the Islamic Republic of Iran, which had already made history as the first country to recognize the newly established state, sent an ambassador and established its embassy, immortalizing its name as the first country to appoint an ambassador to the noble people of Tajikistan. 

Now, in January 2025, thanks to the wise and compassionate decisions of the leaders of the two nations, relations between our peoples are stronger than ever before.
