The discussion focused on regional and international developments, including the situations in Gaza and Lebanon.

 

During the meeting, Araghchi underscored Iran’s pivotal role in advancing the dialogue of civilizations and cultures, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and engagement in resolving international challenges.

 

Highlighting the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza and Lebanon, Araghchi briefed the Secretary-General on his recent consultations and communications with regional countries aimed at halting the genocide and aggressions perpetrated by the Israeli regime in Gaza and Lebanon.

 

Guterres, for his part, expressed deep concern over the ongoing crisis in the region and voiced hope that the efforts would soon lead to the establishment of a ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza
