Iran warns will retaliate in kind any confrontational approach at the IAEA Board of Governor’s meeting

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi spoke on the phone on Wednesday morning with his South African counterpart, Ronald Lamola.

The two sides discussed issues related to a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s Board of Governors, a proposed resolution by three European countries, and the cooperation between Iran and the IAEA. South African is a member of the IAEA Board of Governors.

During the phone call, the Iranian foreign minister referred to Grossi's visit to Iran, reiterating the goodwill of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the IAEA.

He emphasized that if the opposing parties seek confrontation, the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond appropriately.

The South African foreign minister also expressed his gratitude for the phone call and welcomed the cooperation between Iran and the IAEA.
