Iran ,Turkey FMs hold talks over Syria in Ankara
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi who has traveled to Ankara as part of his regional tour met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan discussing bilateral relations and the latest regional developments particularly in Syria.

During this meeting, Araghchi referred to his intensive discussions the previous day in Damascus with President Bashar al-Assad of Syria and shared mutual concerns regarding a new wave of terrorism and insecurity in the region. He emphasized the necessity for cooperation and synergy among regional countries, especially between Iran and Turkey, to safeguard stability and security.
Araghchi highlighted Israeli regime's efforts, supported by the United States, to exploit the sensitive conditions in the region following unprecedented crimes and aggressions against the Palestinian people in Gaza and Lebanon, aiming to divert global attention from these atrocities.
He noted that recent activities by terrorist groups in Syria and the spread of instability align with Zionist objectives.
Pointing to continuation of the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza and Lebanon, and breach of the ceasefire, the Iranian Foreign Minister reiterated the shared responsibility of Islamic countries and all regional nations to halt these aggressions and prevent Israel from taking advantage of the situation.
He also stressed the importance of providing special attention and assistance to refugees in Gaza and Lebanon, particularly as winter approaches and conditions worsen for the people.
Furthermore, he pointed out the serious determination of both countries to pursue efforts for enhancing bilateral relations, stating that fortunately, their relationship is on an upward trajectory.
He voiced hope the ninth meeting of the High Council for Cooperation between the two countries be held early next year.
Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also emphasized his country's commitment to strengthening relations with its neighbor across various domains including economic, political, cultural, and security fields. He identified enhanced cooperation in combating terrorism as one of these priorities.
Fidan expressed concern over increasing insecurity and instability in Syria and its implications for neighboring countries. The foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkey also agreed on continuing consultations regarding regional developments.
