Iran’s new counsel general in Najaf meets with FM Araghchi

In this meeting, Araghchi emphasized the exceptionally strong relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq as two neighboring Muslim nations.

He underscored the eminent status of the holy city of Najaf Ashraf, the honored resting place of the First Imam of Shia Muslims, Imam Ali (PBUH). Araghchi pointed to the large number of pilgrims who visit the sacred sites, particularly during the Arba’een observances, to the holy cities in Iraq.

He stressed the necessity of comprehensive planning to ensure the optimal execution of assigned responsibilities.

It is noteworthy that prior to his appointment as the new Consul General in Najaf, Seyedin served as the Director General of Organization, Budget, and Administrative Reform within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Seyedin’s managerial and professional background also includes previous roles as the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Hamburg, Deputy of the Institute for Political and International Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Head of the Iranian Organization for International Assemblies, Deputy Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan, and as an expert in the Iranian Embassy in Kuwait.
