Iran FM attends gathering of Iranian Expatriates in Tehran marking Nowruz
Iranian Foreign Minister and Acting Head of the High Council of Iranian Expatriates Hossein Amirabdollahian has attended a gathering of Iranians living abroad marking Nowruz that was held in Tehran.

In the meeting, Amirabdollahian listened to the views of several of the attendees and made a speech.
The Iranian foreign minister noted that Iranians living abroad are often an educated community and have prominent specialized, scientific and cultural characteristics. He also said that one of the characteristics is adherence to their national identity.
Amirabdollahian added that the Foreign Ministry is making an effort to enable the Iranian expatriates to make their voices heard constantly through their trustees and representatives, using a proper mechanism.
Amirabdollahian further stressed that the Foreign Ministry’s efforts have made it possible for Iranians to consult with the Judiciary. He said, “We have asked the new ambassadors and heads of our diplomatic missions abroad to follow up on the issues and problems faced by Iranians in particular. The consular section of the Foreign Ministry is also creating a center that will answer the phone calls of Iranians abroad round the clock.”
“The Administration of President Ebrahim Raisi has put a travel inquiry system in place for Iranians who may have worries about traveling to Iran due to hostile and Iranophobic propaganda”, he said.
Amirabdollahian said the Foreign Ministry and the High Council of Iranian Expatriates are, among others, making efforts to get the Protection of Iranian Expatriates Comprehensive Law approved and are pursuing discussions about a law on military service and dual citizenship.
In the gathering the foreign minister further spoke about some aspects and developments regarding the recent riots in Iran, the dimensions of the enemies' conspiracy to cause chaos in the country and their failure to achieve their goal.
At the beginning of the meeting, a number of Iranian expatriates, on behalf of others, shared their views and spoke about their problems and expectations in an intimate atmosphere and in direct contact with the foreign minister and the acting head of the High Council of Iranian Expatriates.
