Iran’s Foreign Minister meets with Venezuela’s President
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian held a meeting on Friday with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro for talks on topics of mutual interest.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian held a meeting on Friday with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro for talks on topics of mutual interest.
During the session, Iran’s chief diplomat said Maduro’s trip to Tehran and the signing of a comprehensive cooperation document between the two states were a turning point in bilateral relations.
He said a swift implementation of the agreements reached between the two sides is an important factor in boosting mutual cooperation.
For his part, the Venezuelan president highlighted the two countries’ experience in facing common challenges, stressing the need to promote and consolidate bilateral cooperation.
The two sides further exchanged views on the process of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the necessity to promote and supervise joint projects and accelerate their implementation and to stay vigilant in defending the two countries’ national interests in the face of foreign pressure.
They also welcomed increasing contacts and exchanges of views between officials of Iran and Venezuela.
The meeting was also joined by other high-ranking political and economic officials of Venezuela, including Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, Vice President and Minister of Science and Technology Gabriela Jimenez, Agriculture Minister Wilmar Castro, Minister of Transport Ramón Velásquez, among others.
Meanwhile, Maduro relayed warm greetings to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Ebrahim Raisi.
