Irant, Kuwait hold sixth joint consular commission in Tehran

The Sixth Joint Consular Commission between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Kuwait convened in Tehran on Monday and Tuesday December 16–17 2024.

The Sixth Joint Consular Commission between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Kuwait convened in Tehran on Monday and Tuesday, December 16–17, 2024. 

The meeting, held within the framework of friendly relations and aimed at enhancing consular cooperation as part of consular diplomacy, was co-chaired by Vahid Jalalzadeh, Deputy for Consular, Parliamentary, and Iranian Affairs at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Aziz Al-Deehani, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kuwait for Consular Affairs. 

During the discussions, the two sides addressed issues and challenges concerning the nationals of both countries and exchanged views on a range of bilateral consular matters. These included the proper implementation of the judicial cooperation agreement, as well as cooperation in policing, port, and maritime affairs.
The topics also extended to discussions on the transfer of prisoners between the two nations. 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the document of the Sixth Joint Consular Commission, comprising 21 articles, was signed by the heads of the two delegations.
