Iranian ,Turkish foreign ministers meet on sidelines of D-8 ministerial meeting in Cairo

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan met on the sidelines of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation ministerial meeting in Cairo on Thursday.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed and exchanged views on the agenda items for the 11th D-8 Summit, scheduled to take place later on Thursday, with the participation of the presidents of eight countries, including Iran's President Massoud Pezeshkian.

The Iranian and Turkish foreign ministers reviewed the latest regional developments, focusing on the current situation in Gaza and the continued atrocities by the Zionist regime against the people in Palestine and Lebanon.

The two top diplomats specifically highlighted the regime's aggression against Syria, targeting the country's defense and economic infrastructure.

They emphasized the need for consultations among major Islamic countries, particularly D-8 member states, to halt the Zionist regime's aggressions and to protect the stability and enduring security of the region.
