Iran denounces Zionist regime’s ongoing crimes in occupied Palestine
.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baqaei, strongly condemned the continued attacks and crimes committed by the racist Israeli regime against the oppressed Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, particularly during Eid al-Fitr, including the targeted assassination of journalists, deliberate attacks on rescue workers and medical facilities, and the incursions by extremist Zionist settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Baqaei pointed to the recent report by the UN Human Rights Council’s Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, which called for pressure on the Israeli regime to halt its policy of imposing starvation and famine as tools of genocide.
He reminded the UN human rights mechanisms of their responsibility in this regard and expressed regret over the inaction of certain Western countries, claiming to support human rights, such as the UK, Canada, Germany, and France, in the face of Israel’s systematic and egregious violations of human rights and humanitarian law in occupied Palestine.
He described the inaction as clear evidence of these countries’ lack of sincerity regarding human rights and the rule of law.
The Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson also emphasized the shared responsibility of all governments to prevent and confront atrocity crimes, including genocide and war crimes, under international law.
He stated that the continued impunity of the Zionist regime is the primary reason for its increasing boldness and the persistence of its massacres and occupation in Palestine.
Baqaei called on all nations, particularly Islamic countries, to stand in verbal and practical solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and to take action to stop the ongoing slaughter of defenseless Palestinian women and children
