Serbian FM holds phone talks with Araghchi, talks ties, congratlates his appointment

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Juric, in a phone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi
congratulated him on his appointment as the top Iranian diplomat.
Juric expressed hope that friendly relations between Serbia and Iran will expand more than ever before under the new Iranian administration.

Juric further said Serbia is willing to boost economic cooperation with Iran and invited the Iranian economic sectors to actively participate in the 2027 Expo Belgrade.

The top Serbian diplomat thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support of the territorial integrity of Serbia, hailing the Iranian support as “precious” and “worthy of gratitude”.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi also thanked the Serbian side, saying maintaining and strengthening friendly relations with Serbia and helping boost stability in the Balkans are foreign policy priorities for Iran’s 14th administration.

Araghchi then reaffirmed Iran’s support for the territorial integrity of Serbia and its logical opposition to any border and geopolitical changes in different regions.

The Iranian foreign minister noted that it’s necessary to use all existing mechanisms to expand bilateral ties between Tehran and Belgrade, especially in economic and trade spheres.

The foreign ministers of Iran and Serbia further agreed that consultations between the two countries must continue at different levels.
