Iran Jordan FMs meet in New York discuss regional security bilateral ties

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi who has traveled to New York to attend the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Thursday morning.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who has traveled to New York to attend the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Thursday morning.

Araghchi, referring to Iran’s principled position of respecting the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries in the region, described the use of some countries’ territories as sites for planning and carrying out US and Israeli military aggression as regrettable. He stressed Iran’s readiness to engage with all regional countries to strengthen trust and cooperation on mechanisms for endogenous regional security.

Araghchi described the issue of Palestine as the most important issue facing the Muslim world and the international community, stressing the need for cooperation among Islamic countries and more serious action by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to end the Israeli regime’s impunity and halt its occupation, genocide and expansionism.

The two sides also exchanged views on Iran-Jordan bilateral relations and cooperation.
