Lebanese Shiite Supreme Islamic Council vice president meets Iranian Foreign Minister

Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib Vice President of the Lebanese Shiite Supreme Islamic Council who has traveled to Tehran at the head of a delegation to attend the farewell ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei met on Tuesday afternoon with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, Vice President of the Lebanese Shiite Supreme Islamic Council, who has traveled to Tehran at the head of a delegation to attend the farewell ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, met on Tuesday afternoon with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

Conveying the warm greetings and condolences of Lebanon's religious scholars and resilient people to the Supreme Leader, the President, the Government, and the people of Iran, Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib offered condolences over the martyrdom of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, members of his family, as well as a number of Iranian commanders, officials, and civilians who were killed in the terrorist and barbaric attacks carried out by the United States and the Zionist regime. He described the massive funeral ceremony for the martyred Leader as a lasting symbol of the unity and solidarity of the Iranian people in defending Iran and the Islamic Republic.

The Vice President of the Lebanese Shiite Supreme Islamic Council praised the resilience and steadfastness of the Iranian nation, the determined defense of the country by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the American and Zionist aggressors, and the firmness and authority demonstrated by Iranian negotiators in the diplomatic arena. He underscored the importance of Iran's principled position during negotiations with the United States in continuing its support for the resilient people of Lebanon and for the country's territorial integrity and national sovereignty in the face of Zionist aggression and occupation. He also expressed appreciation for the Islamic Republic of Iran's commitment to ending the war against Lebanon and to securing the withdrawal of the Zionist occupying forces from Lebanese territory.

Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib expressed confidence that Iran's heroic defense against the American-Zionist military aggression has further consolidated the authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran and has become a source of pride for Iran's friends, the peoples of the region, and all freedom-loving people around the world.

For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his sincere appreciation for the participation of the delegation from the Lebanese Shiite Supreme Islamic Council in the farewell and tribute ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, as well as for the comforting messages conveyed by Lebanon's religious scholars and various segments of its resilient people. He praised the steadfastness of the Lebanese people in the face of the Zionist regime's aggression and reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran's continued comprehensive support for the Lebanese people, as well as for Lebanon's territorial integrity and national sovereignty. He also stressed Iran's commitment to pursuing an end to the Zionist regime's aggression and occupation against Lebanon.
