Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi held a telephone conversation at noon on Friday to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.

During the call, the Iranian foreign minister outlined the latest status of the diplomatic process being mediated by Pakistan, stressing that reaching a final agreement depends on the United States abandoning its excessive demands and inconsistent and contradictory positions. He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains serious and steadfast in pursuing its legitimate rights and interests.

Araghchi also praised Oman’s principled and responsible approach regarding issues related to regional peace and security, including Muscat’s constructive role as a mediator in the Iran-U.S. talks, which were ultimately met with bad faith by Washington. He further condemned the United States’ threatening rhetoric against Oman and underscored that the responsible measures adopted by Iran and Oman to ensure safe and secure maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz are based on international law and serve the interests of the global community.

The Iranian foreign minister also condemned the Israeli regime’s crimes in Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing the moral and legal responsibility of regional countries, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations to take urgent action to halt the occupying regime’s aggression against Lebanon and the continuing genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories.

During the phone call, the two sides also discussed ways to expand bilateral relations and cooperation aimed at strengthening trust, peace, and stability in the region.
