Phone conversation between the Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Philippines

..

Ms. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro, the Foreign Minister of the Philippines, expressed her condolences in a phone call with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of Iran, over the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader and a number of Iranian officials and people during the military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime.

Ms. Lazaro also expressed hope that we would witness the swift end of the war and the return of lasting peace and stability to the region.

Iran's Foreign Minister, while appreciating the expression of sympathy by the Philippine government and people, elaborated on the crimes committed by the United States and the Zionist regime during their 34 days of military aggression against Iran.

Araghchi stated that the illegal attack by the United States and the Zionist regime on Iran is the root cause of the existing insecurity in the region and the Strait of Hormuz, and emphasized that Iran's action in preventing the passage of vessels affiliated with the aggressors is in accordance with international law and aimed at maintaining security in this waterway and preventing the continuation of military aggression against Iran.

The Iranian Foreign Minister clarified that the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a responsible approach and despite the imposed insecurity on the region and the Strait of Hormuz, has provided the necessary facilities for the safe passage of non-belligerent vessels and ships through coordination with the relevant Iranian authorities.
