Deputy prime minister of Republic of Azerbaijan hosts visiting Iranian foreign minister

During the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on the state of bilateral relations, and consulted on ways to advance and expand relations between the two countries.

 

Referring to the deep cultural and historical bonds between the two countries, the deputy prime minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan emphasized the importance of following up on the implementation of the agreements reached at the level of the presidents of the two countries.

 

He described the increase in the number of existing flights between the two countries and the acceleration in the implementation of joint projects along the border as tangible outcomes of President Massoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Baku and as a sign of the determination and will of the two governments to expand relations in all areas of mutual interest.

 

Mustafayev referred to his three trips to Iran during the past year and his visits to various provinces of Iran, and stressed the readiness of the Republic of Azerbaijan to expand economic and commercial relations with Iran.

 

The Iranian foreign minister pointed to the useful and constructive discussions he had during this trip with the president, the foreign minister, and the speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

He expressed confidence that the understandings reached in the course of these talks will lead to the enhancement of bilateral relations and the expansion of cooperation in the fields of economic-commercial relations, transportation, transit, energy, water, and cultural tourism.

 

Araghchi also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Joint Economic Commission of the two countries, which operates under the management of Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan.

 

He emphasized the importance of effectively following up on joint economic projects until results are achieved, as well as making greater use of the capacities of the neighboring provinces.
