Iranian, Iraqi deputy FMs meet in Baghdad

Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates Affairs continued his engagements in Baghdad with a meeting with Bahr Al-Uloom Iraq’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Bilateral Relations.

At the outset of the meeting, both sides condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime in the region and welcomed the ceasefire in Lebanon, describing it as a victory for the people of Lebanon and Hezbollah.

Vahid Jalalzadeh characterized the relationship between Iran and Iraq as unparalleled in the region. He highlighted the frequent high-level visits, consultations, and numerous agreements across diverse fields as testaments to the depth of the two countries’ friendly relations.

Jalalzadeh also described the first official foreign visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Iraq as a reflection of the strategic depth of bilateral ties.

Iraq's Deputy Foreign Minister echoed these sentiments. Bahr Al-Uloom called the Tehran-Baghdad relationship exemplary in the region and expressed a strong desire for further strengthening and enhancement of ties between the two neighboring countries.
