Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman says introducing new acting ambassador to Afghanistan ‘part of routine changes’

The Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei elaborated on Tuesday that the appointment of a new caretaker ambassador for the Islamic Republic of Irans Embassy in Afghanistan is part of the normal and routine changes in missions within the ministry and its diplomatic and consular representations abroad that occur at regular intervals.

 

The Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei elaborated on Tuesday that the appointment of a new caretaker ambassador for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Embassy in Afghanistan is part of the normal and routine changes in missions within the ministry and its diplomatic and consular representations abroad that occur at regular intervals.

 

Briefing reporters, the spokesperson acknowledged the valuable efforts of outgoing envoy Hassan Kazemi Qomi over the past few years and wished success for the new envoy, Alireza Bigdeli.

 

Bigdeli is a former deputy for Consular and Parliamentary Affairs at the Iranian Foreign Ministry who has taken over as the acting ambassador in Kabul.
