Iran FM special envoy meets top Lebanese diplomat discusses aid dispatch

The Iranian foreign minister’s special envoy for West Asia Raouf Sheibani on Wednesday morning met with Lebanon’s top diplomat Abdallah Bou Habib as he continued his consultations with Lebanese officials.


The Iranian foreign minister’s special envoy for West Asia Raouf Sheibani on Wednesday morning met with Lebanon’s top diplomat Abdallah Bou Habib as he continued his consultations with Lebanese officials.

The two sides discussed the latest field and political developments in Lebanon and also the state of the Lebanese displaced and explored ways of getting humanitarian aid to them.

In the meeting, Sheibani gave the Lebanese foreign minister a report on the latest relief aid shipments sent by Iran and underlined the Islamic Republic of Iran's readiness to give more aid to improve the situation of the displaced and those affected by the war in Lebanon.

In this regard, he refererd to the obstacles and problems created by the Zionist regime in the way of sending humanitarian aid by Iran and called it an inhumane and criminal act.

Sheibani also briefed the Lebanese foreign minister on the consultations held by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi with his counterparts and high-ranking officials of other countries regarding the necessity of the collective efforts to stop the barbaric and inhumane attacks of the Zionist regime on Lebanon and Gaza.

Bou Habib, for his part, thanked Iran for its political and humanitarian support for Lebanon.

The Lebanese foreign minister also briefed Sheibani of his country's diplomatic moves regarding the need to force the Israeli regime to accept a ceasefire in Lebanon.
