Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who is heading an official delegation to Lebanon, met the Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati shortly after arriving in Beirut on Friday.

During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister offered condolences on behalf of the Iranian government and nation on the martyrdom of the secretary general of  Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and the innocent Lebanese citizens following terrorist and aggressive assaults by the Zionist regime.

He asserted the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to support the Lebanese government, nation, and resistance against the Israeli regime’s aggression and warmongering.

Araghchi highlighted the scale and severity of the brutal crimes perpetrated by the Zionist regime, saying they are clear examples of severe international crimes.

He noted that Islamic and Arab countries must make comprehensive efforts to shed light on the dimensions of the illegal and criminal moves by the Israeli regime in order to mobilize international organizations and institutions for a collective move to put an end to Israel’s aggression.

For his part, the Lebanese prime minister discussed the latest developments in Lebanon, slamming Israel’s aggressions as real examples of war crimes.

He expressed regret over the inaction by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in the face of the Zionist regime’s dangerous adventures.

Mikati appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for the Lebanese government and nation in these difficult circumstances.
