The message of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Minister following the recent strikes by the Zionist regime in the suburbs of Beirut

The nature of the illegitimate and fake Zionist regime is based on the assassination and slaughter of innocent people, especially women and children.

The martyrdom of over 43,000 people and the injury of more than 93,000 others along with the displacement of over two million people and the destruction of hundreds of thousands of residential, infrastructure, medical and educational facilities in the Gaza Strip in less than a year indicate crimes against humanity, genocide, ethnic cleansing and war crimes committed amid the silence and inaction of the international community and countries claiming to stand for human rights.

 

The failure or reluctance of the international community and those of the Zionist regime’s supporters to stop the regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip has caused Israel to target the innocent people in Lebanon more impudently than before, this time by turning communication technologies into weapons and through airstrikes, claiming many innocent lives.

 

Today’s attacks by the Zionist regime on the Dahiyeh region in Beirut are crimes against humanity and a war crime and show that the regime is the biggest threat to regional and international peace and security.

 

We ask the UN Security Council to put an end to its indifference and inaction by taking serious measures in order to stop the Zionist regime’s killing machine. We also demand the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) secretary general hold an extraordinary meeting of the heads of the organization as soon as possible to deal with the situation.

 

While extending my sympathies with the Lebanese nation and government, I express my condolences to the families of the martyrs of the major crime. The Islamic Republic of Iran’s government will stand by the Lebanese nation and the axis of resistance.
