Iran’s acting FM meets with Bangladeshi official in Tehran

Ali Bagheri continued his bilateral meetings with officials present at the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Forum by meeting and holding discussions with Shahriar Alam a member of the Parliamentary Policy Committee and former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

Ali Bagheri, Iran’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, continued his bilateral meetings with officials present at the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Forum by meeting and holding discussions with Shahriar Alam, a member of the Parliamentary Policy Committee and former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

Bagheri described the presence of the two countries in various Asian multilateral mechanisms, including the D-8 and the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Forum, as a suitable ground for enhancing bilateral and international cooperation.

Iran’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of comprehensive relations between the parties, highlighting the development of economic cooperation.
He expressed hope that “we would soon witness the holding of a joint economic commission between the two countries in Tehran.”

Iran’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs described the cultural and historical commonalities between the two countries as a valuable asset for building solid and sustainable relations.
He added that the participation and cooperation of the private sectors of the two countries would deepen the bonds of friendship between them.

Bagheri stated that the development of relations between Iran and Bangladesh is not only beneficial for both parties but also has positive impacts on regional peace, stability, and development.

The head of the Bangladesh delegation at the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Forum expressed the condolences and sympathy of the government and people of Bangladesh following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their entourage.
He referred to the sentiments of the Bangladeshi people in sympathizing with the people of Iran, adding that the two countries have various areas of cooperation in energy, tourism, and construction.

Shahriar Alam emphasized expanding economic cooperation between the two countries in various industrial, agricultural, trade, and tourism sectors, especially health tourism, considering the high level of medical and hospital services in Iran.
He announced the readiness of the government and parliament of Bangladesh to expand relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields.

The two parties in this meeting emphasized the need to stop the crimes of the Zionist regime against the oppressed people of Palestine. They highlighted the capacity for cooperation between Iran and Bangladesh in international organizations as two Islamic countries in support of Palestine.
