Acting Iran FM: ACD shows serious determination to jettison unilateralism authoritarian approach

The Singaporean foreign minister’s special envoy Ong Keng Yong who is on a visit to Tehran to take part in the 19th meeting of the foreign ministers of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) member states met Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri on Sunday evening for discussion.

Bagheri said holding the ACD meeting in Tehran and the active participation of the member states are a sign of the serious determination to create a world away from unilateralist and authoritarian mechanisms.

 

He said strengthening the links and cooperation between regional organizations such as ACD and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) would be in line with boosting this approach and fulfilling the interests of East and West Asian states.

 

The top diplomat expressed Iran’s readiness to enhance relations between Iran and Singapore, especially economic and trade ties, and stressed that the deals and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries should be finalized.

 

Meanwhile, the Singaporean special envoy noted his country is ready to promote and boost its ties with Iran at bilateral levels as well as regional and international cooperation.

 

He also stressed the necessity to bolster interaction and reciprocal trips between the officials of the two countries to plan for the enhancement and expansion of ties and utilize their existing capacities
