Iran acting FM meets Hamas political chief reiterates support for resistance

Bagheri congratulated the Palestinian people on Eid al-Adha and hailed the heroic resistance of the Palestinian nation and the resistance movements. He shed light on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s recent diplomatic moves to support the resistance in bilateral and multilateral spheres.

The Iranian diplomat said, “It is necessary to implement all capacities to make the Zionists’ aggression and crimes costly.”

He added, “Resistance should not be limited to armed struggle against the occupiers inside Palestine, but the legal resistance, political resistance, and resistance in public diplomacy outside Palestine should back the determination and rights of the Palestinian people in line with the armed resistance inside Palestine.”

Meanwhile, Haniyeh also extended his congratulations on Eid al-Adha and once sympathized over the martyrdom of Iranian President Ayatollah Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, and praised them for their role in supporting Palestine and the resistance front.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution as well as the Iranian government, nation, and diplomatic service for supporting the Palestinian people and resistance.

The head of Hamas’ political office said, “Despite the Zionist regime’s ongoing savage and genocidal crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian nation’s resistance is still strong and stands up against the aggressor Zionist regime.”

Haniyeh further said, that the Zionist regime’s domestic political situation, its situation in the region and the world, the uprising by the public opinion in the West, especially the US, against the occupiers’ crimes, as well as the field developments surrounding the resistance front in Lebanon and Yemen, indicate the strategic maturity of the nations in the region, showing that returning to the period before Operation Al-Aqsa Storm is impossible.

He stated, “The Israeli army has in practice failed to achieve its goals after nine months of large-scale military aggression and genocide against the people of Gaza.”

Haniyeh elaborated on Hamas’ principled stance on the political plan presented to put an end to the war in Gaza, stressing the resistance movement welcomes any strategy that meets all of the demands of the Palestinian nation.
