Acting Iran FM meets Qatari counterpart talks Gaza bilateral ties

Acting Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri met and held talks with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

During this meeting, Baqeri, while congratulating Eid al-Adha, described the Qatari government's move to send a high-ranking delegation to Tehran and pay respects to the martyrs of the May flight and offer condolences to the Iranian government and people as a sign of solidarity in difficult times and the depth of the friendship between the two countries and the two nations of Iran and Qatar.

Bagheri assessed the progress of bilateral relations in various political and economic fields, as well as regional cooperation between Iran and Qatar, as positive.

He praised the effective role of late Iranian President Martyr Ayatollah Raisi and late Foreign Minister Martyr Amirabdollahian in establishing long-term and sustainable relations between the two countries.

Bagheri stated the conditions of the region and the interests of the regional nations necessitate using all capacities to stop the genocide in Gaza and to support the oppressed people of Gaza.

The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the strategic policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in strengthening relations with neighboring countries, stating: The neighborhood policy of Ayatollah Raisi's government has today become a common ground for all parties seeking security and sustainable development. Therefore, without a doubt, this strategic priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran's foreign policy will continue uninterrupted.

In this meeting, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, also congratulated on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.


He once again expressed condolences to the government and people of Iran for the loss of the late Iranian President and Foreign Minister, describing their roles in advancing the relations between the two countries and supporting the Palestinian people as outstanding.

The Qatari official expressed hope that the Iranian nation, by overcoming these difficult circumstances and succeeding in the upcoming elections, will continue to advance with greater strength and power in all fields and that the relations between the two countries will be further enhanced.

The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar also referred to regional developments and the situation in Palestine, including the events in Gaza, assessing the current conditions as very critical. He emphasized the necessity of continuing consultations between the two countries to help achieve stability and security in the region.
