Chinese ambassador summoned to Iran Foreign Ministry

The protest of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the repeated support of the Chinese government for the baseless claims stated in paragraph 26 of the final statement of the joint meeting of the People's Republic of China and the United Arab Emirates was conveyed to him along with a protest note.

 

In this meeting, the director general of the Persian Gulf at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while recalling the special and excellent relations between Iran and China, considered respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries as one of the well-known and fundamental principles in international relations and emphasized the eternal belonging of the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ali Bak added that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran rejects and considers unacceptable any claim from any party in this regard.

 

The assistant minister of foreign affairs stated that considering the strategic cooperation between Tehran and Beijing, it is expected that the Chinese government will revise its stance on this matter.

 

The Chinese ambassador also stated that he will promptly convey the protest of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to his country's officials.
