Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman on desecration of Holy Quran in Denmark

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani strongly condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in Denmark.

Emphasizing the need for the unity of Islamic states and nations and all followers of divine religions to effectively deal with any violation of the Holy Quran and the sanctities of Abrahamic religions anywhere in the world, the Iranian spokesman said, “Despite the sinister intentions of the behind-the-scenes plotters of the insult to the sanctities and values of more than two billion Muslims in the world, we believe that the free thinkers and right-seekers of the world will stand unanimously against this evil sedition and hateful actions, and, with vigilance, unity and cohesion, will disgrace the real violators of human rights and make them regret their action.”

Referring to the ongoing efforts in the Islamic world to hold accountable those who violated Islamic sanctities, Kanaani stated, “The Islamic Republic of Iran, while continuing its contacts and discussions with Islamic countries, will continue its actions and efforts to deal with 21st-century ignorance, which has targeted human dignity and authentic freedom of expression under the banner of fake Western freedom of speech.”

The spokesperson said, “From the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Danish government is responsible for preventing insults to the Holy Quran and Islamic sanctities, as well as prosecuting and punishing the insulters, and in this regard, the public opinion of the Islamic world is waiting for practical actions by the Danish government.
