Iran condemns terrorist attack on worshippers in Niger

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei strongly condemned a terrorist attack at a mosque in Kokorou region in southwest Niger that killed and wounded dozens of fasting worshippers.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmail Baqaei, strongly condemned a terrorist attack at a mosque in Kokorou region in southwest Niger that killed and wounded dozens of fasting worshippers.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman described the terrorist act, which was committed in a holy place during Friday prayers, as contrary to Islamic law and all international law and humanitarian laws.
He extended his sympathies to the families of the victims as well as the people and government of Niger, and prayed to God the Almighty for forgiveness for those killed and recovery and health for the injured.

Baqaei referred to Iran’s principled policy to condemn all forms and manifestations of terrorism and violent extremism.
He underlined the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination at regional and international levels to prevent and counter terrorism and put on trial and punish the perpetrators and orchestrators of such acts of terror.
