Iran’s new Consul General to Russia’s Kazan meets FM Amirabdollahian

Davoud Mirzakhani, Iran’s new Consul General to Kazan, Russia, met with Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian before departing for the region of his mission.

Davoud Mirzakhani, Iran’s new Consul General to Kazan, Russia, met with Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian before departing for the region of his mission.
In the meeting, they discussed the situation in Kazan and the most important areas of mutual cooperation. Amirabdollahian referred to the good history of relations between Iran and Kazan, stressing the need to expand economic cooperation and relations with the Republic of Tatarstan and other republics and provinces of the Volga region and also the necessity of boosting cultural, tourism and academic cooperation.
In addition to working at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uzbekistan, Davoud Mirzakhani previously held such posts as assistant to the minister of energy in the Eurasian Economic Union affairs and the Joint Commission for Economic and Commercial Cooperation between Iran and Russia. Mirzakhani has also served as a member of the national working groups "Rules of Origin" and "Technical Obstacles to Commodity Trade and Implementation of the Agreement to Establish a Free Trade Zone between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union”. He also used to serve as the head of one of the oversight departments.
