Iranian, Dutch FMs hold phone conversation

In a telephone conversation Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Casper Veldkamp Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Netherlands discussed bilateral issues as well as regional and international developments.


In a telephone conversation, Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Casper Veldkamp Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Netherlands, discussed bilateral issues as well as regional and international developments. Araghchi underlined the Islamic Republic of Iran's policy of seeking good diplomatic relations with other countries and said Tehran is ready for negotiations and interaction with European states based on mutual respect and shared interests.

The Dutch Foreign Minister, while highlighting the long-standing relations between the Netherlands and Iran and the importance of Iran's role and position in regional developments, emphasized the necessity of utilizing all diplomatic capacities to foster understanding in intergovernmental relations and resolve disputes.

The top Dutch diplomat also spoke about the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf, saying this is a bilateral issue between iran and the UAE. Veldkamp noted that the Netherlands, as always, supports interaction between Tehran and Abu Dhabi in order to resolve any dispute in line with international law.
