Iranian Tajik FMs meet in New York discuss bilateral ties regional developments

Seyed Abbas Araghchi Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran who has traveled to New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly met with Sirojiddin Muhriddin Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan at noon on Wednesday as part of his consultations with countries participating in the session. They discussed bilateral relations and the most important developments in Central Asia the Caucasus and West Asia.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who has traveled to New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, at noon on Wednesday as part of his consultations with countries participating in the session. They discussed bilateral relations and the most important developments in Central Asia, the Caucasus and West Asia.

Referring to the historical, civilizational, cultural and linguistic ties between the two nations, Araghchi stressed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to develop and deepen relations with Tajikistan in all areas of mutual interest.

Araghchi also, while explaining the latest regional developments following the US and Israeli regime’s military aggression against Iran and the continuation of economic terrorism and the naval blockade, stressed that the Iranian nation remains steadfast and determined in defending Iran’s existence and sovereignty.

The two sides also held consultations on the implementation of the understandings reached between the two countries in various economic and trade fields.
