Iranian Kyrgyz FMs meet on Sidelines of SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev met on Friday afternoon on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev met on Friday afternoon on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

Expressing appreciation for Kyrgyzstan's warm hospitality, Araghchi stressed the importance of making greater use of the two countries' bilateral and multilateral cooperation opportunities within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Referring to the United States' breach of commitments and military aggression against Iran, Araghchi praised the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers for its firm position in condemning the military attack on Iran. He stressed that the international community must recognize the dangerous consequences of U.S. lawlessness and militarism in the West Asia region, unite in opposing the flagrant violations of the United Nations Charter and international law, and call for the prosecution and punishment of American and Israeli perpetrators.

The Kyrgyz foreign minister, while welcoming Iran's active participation in the SCO foreign ministers' meeting, expressed hope for the continuation and strengthening of cooperation among member states during Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in order to advance the organization's goals and programmes.

The foreign ministers of Iran and Kyrgyzstan also exchanged views on bilateral relations and discussed ways to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, transport, energy, and transit.
