Iranian Japanese Foreign Ministers hold telephone talks

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi held a telephone conversation at noon on Monday to discuss and exchange views on the provisions of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and the latest developments related to it.

During the call, Araghchi outlined the key provisions of the memorandum for his Japanese counterpart and expressed hope that its implementation would mark the beginning of a new chapter in economic cooperation and investment between the two countries.

For his part, the Japanese foreign minister welcomed the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, describing it as an important step toward resolving regional crises, and stressed the need for its full and precise implementation.

The two sides also underscored the importance of maintaining close contacts and consultations regarding future cooperation on matters related to the Strait of Hormuz.
