Statement by the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the meddling remarks of US officials regarding Iran

The Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the interventionist remarks by the US president and other American officials concerning Iran’s internal affairs.

Such irresponsible positions, which constitute a continuation of the US’s bullying and unlawful approach toward the Iranian nation, not only represent a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles and rules of the UN Charter and international law regarding respect for national sovereignty, but also amount to incitement to violence and terrorism against Iranian citizens.

 

Recalling the long history of criminal interventions by successive US administrations in Iran’s internal affairs, the Foreign Ministry considers claims of concern for the great Iranian nation to be hypocritical, aimed at deceiving public opinion and covering up the numerous crimes committed against Iranians.

Complicity in planning and executing the disgraceful coup on August 19, 1953; cooperation with Saddam’s regime during the eight-year war against the Iranian people; the downing of Iran’s civilian passenger aircraft in 1988 and the killing of 300 innocent people over the Persian Gulf; complicity and partnership with the Israeli regime in attacks on Iran’s vital infrastructure and safeguarded nuclear facilities in June 2025, as well as the assassination and killing of Iranians; and the unjust and inhumane sanctions imposed over recent decades that have targeted the fundamental rights and livelihoods of Iranians—all these constitute clear examples of the United States’ hostility toward the Iranian people.

 

The Foreign Ministry underscores the duties and responsibilities of the UN Security Council and the UN secretary general, in accordance with the Charter thereof, to safeguard international peace and security in the face of the US’s aggressive unilateralism.

It also stresses that Iranians, through dialogue and interaction among themselves to resolve their problems, will not allow any malicious interference.

 

The Foreign Ministry sees the threatening remarks of US officials against Iran as being in line with the Zionist regime’s policy that's aimed at escalating tension in the region, and underlines that the response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to any act of aggression will be swift, decisive, and comprehensive. It is self-evident that responsibility for the consequences of such a situation, which could further plunge the entire region into crisis and instability, will rest fully with the US regime.
