Iran's foreign minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, held a telephone conversation on Wednesday night to consult and exchange views regarding regional developments.

The Iranian Foreign Minister underscored the imperative of a collective regional initiative to immediately halt the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime and to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, describing it as the key to resolving other crises in the region.

Both sides expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions resulting from the continued aggression and occupation by the Zionist regime in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, as well as the ongoing attacks on Yemen.

They emphasized the urgent need for intensified diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent the emergence of a full-scale regional crisis.

The ongoing indirect talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States in Muscat also featured as one of the topics discussed during the conversation
