Iranian FM meets Syrian PM talks regional developments

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi who has traveled to Damascus at the head of a delegation to consult with the Syrian government officials has met with Syrian Prime Minister Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali.

In the meeting, the Syrian prime minister appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for the dignified resistance of Palestine, Lebanon and Syria against the occupation of the Zionist regime and Takfiri terrorism. He expressed hope that all regional governments realize the serious threats posed by the continuation of the Israeli regime's war-mongering policy and have more unity and diligence in order to neutralize the evil acts of the regime.

Referring to the long history of stable and friendly relations between Iran and Syria, which have been tested in difficult times, Araghchi emphasized the determination of the 14th Iranian administration to continue and expand full cooperation with Syria in all spheres, especially in the economic field.

The two sides exchanged views about the latest state of the implementation of agreements and memorandums of understanding in economic and commercial fields and stressed the necessity of using the possibilities of the private sectors of Iran and Syria to strengthen and expand economic, industrial and commercial cooperation.

Discussing the difficult humanitarian conditions caused by the recent aggression of the Zionist regime against Lebanon, which has displaced hundreds of thousands of innocent Lebanese citizens, Araghchi and Jalali stressed the need to mobilize all facilities in the region and at the international level to provide assistance to the displaced and to get international support for this purpose.
