Iran’s acting FM meets with top Kuwaiti diplomat in Tehran

During the meeting, Bagheri expressed gratitude for the comforting messages from senior Kuwaiti officials regarding the martyrdom of Iran’s President and Foreign Minister.

Highlighting the abundant cultural similarities and close relations between Iran and Kuwait, Bagheri considered close interaction and cooperation between Iran, Kuwait, and other regional countries as crucial for enhancing stability and sustainable development in the region.

He underscored the approach of the administration of late Iranian President Ayatollah Raisi to prioritize strengthening relations with neighbors in foreign policy, starting with building mutual trust as the foundation for interaction between neighboring countries.

He emphasized the necessity of strengthening economic ties between the two countries, aligning with the Islamic Republic’s keen interest in expanding relations with Kuwait.

Abdullah Ali Alyahya, for his part, paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the May copter crash during the meeting. He recalled his positive interactions and negotiations with Iran’s late Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

Referring to the historical, geographical, and cultural commonalities between the two countries and peoples, he emphasized Kuwait’s readiness to comprehensively develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The two sides emphasized the development of bilateral relations in all fields, and the activation and strengthening of the mechanisms pertaining to their ties, including the Joint Economic Commission and Political and Consular Committee.

They further discussed consular matters and bilateral cooperation in international forums during this meeting.
